Today I flew to the Iola lunch with Jim, dropped him off back at Brennand Airport, flew to work in Green Bay, did a flight lesson, flew back, and then flew with Jim some more in the other Cessna 172, 15X. On that last flight we flew to Waupaca and back.

| The Waupaca River meets the Wolf River, east of Weyauwega |
Tonight I saw a big change in the scenery: east of the Waupaca airport, in Weyauwega, an entire lake was missing! The Waupaca River carved a path through the middle of what used to be Lake Weyauwega. The lake had obviously been drained. I haven't flown in this area lately, so it was weird to see a landmark so changed.

| A dry Lake Weyauwega! |
After some Internet searches, I learned that the lake was drawn down in June as part of a major restoration project. I read
an article at waupacanow.com and found
a blog about the project.
